Temporarily? It could be. It's entirely possible that his planned surgery was rescheduled to an emergency, that he's now in rehab. We don't know. But with each day it becomes less likely, and that's why, for now, we're mourning. And I wanted you all to know. (Pic of his FC)

We have been through a lot. He and me both, we struggled a lot when we first met. During the pandemic, when he was homeless and I was in professional limbo, we watched what felt like half of Netflix together. We bonded strongly. We became best friends. Now he is gone.

None of his friends has heard from him since. Not for his birthday, when we all wrote him, not for the holidays. He has my address, but from what I know of his family they might not honor online friendships enough to contact me. So we will never really know. It pains me.

To quote him and his nurses, his blood was as thick as syrup. He had clogged veines, he was losing his vision. It was the last we heard from him. Since we started writing together in 2018, I talked to him near daily. To stay away for so long is not like him.

The writer of @SlaveJanos, whom we call Luca, has last contacted us in October. He had been very sick all year, and he was at acute risk of a stroke. He was doing better for a while, but in October he was hospitalized again, in an emergency. What he told us sounded scary.

carpathian.xn--p3h We are mourning. I have thought about how to write this, and nothing seems quite right. There is a lot of uncertainty, too little information to really make an announcement. But as of the change of years, some of us have agreed that we are mourning.
