Working for a startup means you will inevitably wear a lot of hats - especially in marketing. No doubt a first-time-hire role includes an equal share of strategy + execution. Someone who can “think big picture but also get stuck in the weeds”. This is exciting for a lot of people! But here’s the thing: You can only sustain it for so long. There is always you can do. MORE content.  MORE channels. MORE campaigns. Any every new commit is another step closer to burnout. So - if you’re looking at a job spec with a list of responsibilities that reads more like a “What is Marketing?” checklist - make sure you ask exactly what the plan to scale is.
