What is the scientific work of @BioimplantITN all about? We are developing the next generation of bioabsorbable materials for medical implants. Watch our video clip to learn more or visit our project website: bioimplantitn.eu/
So proud to see the first of our @BioimplantITN ESRs graduating today with their supervisors @VaughanTed and @willronan! Congratulations @Bernini_Martina and Kerstin van Gaalen! 🍾🎉
Huge congratulations to @BioimplantITN ESR @s_wahaaj who completed his viva this week! 👏 Thanks to all supervisors from IMDEA Materials and Meotec GmbH involved in this collaborative project.
Nice work @AgneseLucchetti!
On Monday I presented my work on #degradation of #bioresorbable #braided #stents at #ESB2023 in Maastricht. It's always great to attend this conference and experience what other scientists are working on. Looking for ESB2024 in Edinburgh next year!
We are excited to co-ordinate a new MSCA Doctoral Network project called BIOMEND, which will begin in 2024 and will allow us to build on the research and training programme developed in the @BioimplantITN!
Delighted that our @HorizonEU @MSCActions Doctoral Network "BIOMEND" has been funded to develop novel biodegradable metallic endovascular implants. We will work closely with MeotecGmbh and @ImdeaMaterials from @BioimplantITN, joined by many new partners across Europe!
Congratulations to Dr. Martina Bernini on her successful PhD defence! 🍾Many thanks to @vascularflow who collaborated with us on this project.
Well done to Dr Martina Bernini on the successful defence of her PhD thesis today!! Thanks to @PeterMcHughNUIG and Prof Silvia Schievano of @UCL for examining her thesis on the biomechanics on Ni-Ti stents for peripheral applications, as part of the @MSCActions @BioimplantITN👏

Glad to have presented my recent work about #simulation of the deployment of #bioresorbable #braided #stents in a #patient #specific scenario at the @cmbbesymposium in the beautiful city of Paris! It was great to reunite with many colleagues and to meet new ones.
We are excited to share that BioImplant ESR Kerstin van Gaalen has successfully completed her viva! Congratulations Kerstin! 👏Many thanks to everyone mentioned below. @MSCActions
Well done to Dr. Kerstin Van Gaalen on the successful defence of her PhD thesis today! Thanks to @Eoin_McEvoy and Prof Dario Gastaldi of POLIMI for a great viva examination. Kerstin's PhD was part of the @MSCActions @BioimplantITN network in collaboration with Meotec Gmbh!

Well done to Kerstin Van Gaalen on publishing her third paper from her PhD in @BioactiveMat! This study examines the role of PEO coatings on corrosion performance of magnesium implants -a great collaboration with Meotec Gmbh & @BioimplantITN @MSCActions sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
Huge congratulations to @LisonRocher who recently passed her viva! Her PhD investigated the effect of nanoparticle addition and processing history on Poly L-Lactide stent properties. Thanks to Lison's supervisors in @QUBelfast and @bostonsci.
Congratulations to Lison Rocher for passing her viva! Highly successful biomedical engineer with an exciting career ahead! #nibes #biomedical #engineering
Well done to @s_wahaaj for his latest open-access publications on bioabsorbable Mg wires surface-modified by PEO. A collaboration between @ImdeaMaterials and Meotec GmbH on the @BioimplantITN.

Congratulations Dr. Emily Morra! A fantastic PhD project and lovely to have had you in the BioImplant ITN.
I'm happy to announce that last Friday I successfully defended my PhD thesis "Sterilization and Post-Processing of Bioresorbable Polymers for Cardiovascular Stent Applications" Thank you to my supervisors, the @BioimplantITN and everyone at @bostonsci for this great experience!
Last week, @BioimplantITN ESRs received excellent training on exploitation of their developed technologies, delivered by @Catalyze_biomed and hosted by @QUBelfast. Thanks to all involved!
Great to gather together in @QUBelfast for our last project network-wide training event and ESR update presentations! Best of luck to ESRs submitting their thesis in the coming months.
