Delighted to write this for @The_Globe to expand some more on the rich, evolving tradition of playing Juliet – a tradition into which Francesca Amewudah-Rivers will soon step (& in which Felixe Forde is currently shining).
"There is not one Juliet. There never has been"
Dr Sophie Duncan (@clamorousvoice) author of Searching For Juliet, gives us the history of Juliet.

The first Black professional actor on a British stage whose name we know was a Black woman, Rachael Baptiste, who played Juliet in the eighteenth century. All power to @JamieLloydCo and their leading lady, Francesca Amewaduh-Rivers. She joins a proud, long tradition.

Trudie Gorman's poetry collection, "Trust the Damage", will be published by Dedalus Press in March. Would anyone like to review it for the next issue of The Banshee? thebansheejournal@protonmail.com !
Like our namesake, today we are crawling out into the wilderness to emit a warning scream. Proofs of Issue 3 have gone out to contributors and we will publish in February.

Thanks @chillsubs!
For our "Homelands" issue, we've got a lot of poetry and a good amount of first person confessional prose, so we're not looking for much more of that, but would love some 3rd person short/flash fic & some parody/review/recipe pieces!
