If SpaceX is getting 8% on its debt, good luck to everyone else with 10%+ other than the top-grade hyperscalers.
SpaceX $SPCX is finalizing a $40 billion debt raise at sharply higher borrowing costs than its previous financing, according to Semafor.
The lowest-rated portion is expected to carry an interest rate of around 8.3%, while a safer portion backed by AI chips could price near 7.75%.
The safer portion is expected to price more than 1 percentage point above where SpaceX's existing bonds trade.
The deal, led by Apollo and Goldman Sachs, is expected to be finalized next week.
Let's see how quick these centralised traditional finance systems can upgrade.
My guess: not quick
SCOOP: Major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, including some attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of user instructions, sources told Axios.
The findings have alarmed banking executives, who are racing to restrict access to their systems as AI moves at a velocity faster than financial institutions can respond, multiple industry and bank executives told Axios.
Several banks are now preparing for worst-case and even “day after” scenarios, including how to rapidly secure or restore customer accounts if things go wrong, the people said.
Several bank executives told Axios they're struggling to distinguish between human users and AI agents. One executive said banks also struggle to determine whether agents are authorized by customers or potentially operating without their permission, more akin to rogue agent behavior.

If scaled commercially, this could substantially increase gold supply from abundant mercury feedstock.
eroding golds scarcity driven premium, monetary store-of-value appeal by pricing it closer to energy and production costs.
AI is coming for all premiums
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.
I do wish the Bitcoin bear market was deeper to have taken quantum more seriously.
As soon as NGU, people are forgetting about it.
It’s a real problem for capital allocators that want to come into this space
I hear a lot of companies and people trying to make money in tokenisation but the truth is only a few players will make the money in this space.
But a lot of value will be generated.
