Big wins. Bigger global ambitions. 🌎🏆
Last night, metro Atlanta businesses took the stage for the Metro Export Challenge’s annual Pitch Day competition, showcasing their global ambitions and competing for $30,000 in funding to help take their businesses to the next level. The event also celebrated the program’s 10-year anniversary.
Our winners are:
🥇 Integrated Environmental Services, Inc. — $15,000 award recipient
🥈 Adravision — $10,000 award recipient
🥉 @KahuaInc — $5,000 award recipient
A big thank-you to our sponsors and partners who make this program possible: @Delta, @DecideDeKalb, Partnership Gwinnett, the Georgia Department of Economic Development (@gdecd), NRW.Global Business, the International Trade Administration (@TradeGov), @SelectCobb, @SelectFulton, and the University of Georgia Small Business Development Center (@ugasbdc).
Here’s to helping more Georgia businesses compete and grow on the global stage. 🌍
What happens when tariffs hit Georgia-made and Georgia-grown products?
From advanced manufacturing to poultry, cotton, soybeans, and pecans, trade policy can have a very real impact on the businesses that power Georgia’s economy.
In the latest edition of Georgia by the Numbers, Metro Atlanta Chamber's Chief Economist Dr. Jerry Parrish (@DrJerryParrish) looks at how rising tariffs and trade uncertainty are affecting Georgia’s export economy, and what it means for businesses planning, operating, and growing across the state.
Sometimes, growth starts by getting in the right room.
After receiving a grant through the Metro Export Challenge, Atlanta-based Cooper’s Gourmet – a producer of gourmet cheese straws and snacks – used the funds to exhibit at an international air show in California.
The opportunity put Cooper’s Gourmet products in front of major corporations and opened the door to new business relationships far beyond its home market.
For a growing Atlanta company, that kind of exposure can turn an unexpected opportunity into a new path for growth.
It’s a powerful example of what can happen when Metro Atlanta companies get the opportunity to compete globally: new connections create new possibilities, and a little Atlanta flavor can go a long way.
