Life Update: I'm back in San Francisco, and I've started a new job leading Product & Partnerships at @usekernel.
After two years in London and six months living nomadically, I found the team I wanted to jump back in for.
When credentials are stored in @1Password and AI agents need to use them on websites, @usekernel is the internet runtime that makes the handoff secure and simple in the browser.
Developers can start building with 1password + Kernel agentic autofill today, we are excited to be a launch partner with 1Password for Agents.
Today we announce 1Password for Agents platform, building with companies @Muse, SpaceX Super Intelligence Grok @Bot, @AnthropicAI’s @Claudeai, @OpenAI, @TownAI, @Browserbase, @Browser_use, @heydana_ai, Instinct, @usekernel, @Perplexity_ai, @tryramp, @Tomo, and @wajo_ai, with more integrations on the way. 🎉
We've heard from so many of our customers who want to use these new personal AI agents to help them get more done, but want more control over what the agent can access with the same trust and ease of use they get when using 1Password directly.
1Password for Agents gives your agents access without giving up your passwords. When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it requests a credential from your vault. If you approve the request, 1Password directly auto-fills the credential in the destination site so the agent can’t see or take possession of the credentials.
The agent gets the task done, but it doesn’t get your passwords..
You stay in control. 1Password for Agents free and optional for personal and family accounts. Unless you opt-in to an agent connector, agents cannot touch your vault.

Big fan of Town and the whimsy of this video. Only wish a shot of a Townie using their @usekernel browser had made the final cut :)
The biggest bottleneck at work is waiting on each other.
Today Town is announcing its $108M Series B, co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures, to fix it with multiplayer AI assistants for work.
Most AI assistants are built for one person. Work doesn't happen alone. I think the moat is multiplayer. Everyone at a company gets a Townie. Townies ask each other questions, share only what their person would share, and do the work. The more a team works together, the more useful Townies get.
What's the thing you're always waiting on a teammate for?
We filmed this podcast in July, before Instinct or Muse had launched. At @usekernel, we were already building the browser infra that lets agents do any task, even when there’s no API.
It’s fun to work on problems that were always obvious to us, but weren’t yet obvious to everyone else.

“we tested every browser use product on the market and KERNEL was the clear winner. implementation was a breeze.”

@alekseykorshuk, head of ml at @coframe on config registry:
"about three in four agent sessions on those sites used to hit a bot wall until we found the right browser settings. […] nobody, human or agent, spends time on browser configuration anymore."
Now that AI Assistants are mainstream, most people are just starting to realize how often agents get blocked on websites and why this is a hard problem. Meanwhile, developers building with @usekernel have been using and helping us iterate on Config Registry for months.
Agents need to do work on the Internet, and Config Registry gives them the tools to access more websites.
I’m really proud of this launch, it’s just the beginning of our work at Kernel to make the Internet more reliable for agents.
This is why I'm excited to help define the agentic internet at @usekernel. If you want to work on the most important technology problem of the next 5 years, we are hiring: jobs.ashbyhq.com/usekernel
The most important technology problem of the next 5 years:
Creating a broadly accepted standard for agents to identify themselves to service providers, so that providers can adjust the way they interface with clients (as compared to human-based traffic).
In the interim (i.e., for the next 6 months), there will be a cat-and-mouse game that agents will play -- to circumvent detection and maintain their product's utility during this growth phase.
However, this will only be a stopgap and it will not be the terminal state of the world.

a browser primitive is now table stakes for your product. plz reach out if you want help adding browser use capabilities
.@OpenRouter co-founder Alex Atallah on the "everyone is building the same thing" take:
"This reminds me of this tweet I saw... Everybody's building an agent loop with notifications, third-party connectors, context management, memory, sandboxes, agentic web search, an always-on agent on top."
"This product is showing up everywhere. It is showing up everywhere, but these are just the new table-stakes primitives."
"A 2005 version of that tweet would be: 'Oh, everybody's building the same thing. A database, a users table, a sign-in page, a sign-up page, a profile page, a logout page. Everything's the same.'"
"There's like a lot of differentiation really. There's table-stakes needs for AI just like there's table-stakes needs for the web."

Millions of tasks are being performed by agents as more people are asking AI to book a table, buy a gift, or fill out a form. @usekernel is building browsers that make it all possible.
excited to co-host with our friends at @braintrust, @modal, and @typesafeai (creators of Jev). October 13, San Francisco. All builders are welcome! RSVP soon, and see you there.

Great to partner with @stripe on the latest agent protocols 🤝
🆕 whenever an agent wants to use a headless browser, it, itself, can decide to spin up a @usekernel session and pay for it in real-time via @mpp.
the docs (kernel.sh/docs/info/mpp) are a compelling read, so i'm screenshotting them here as well.
Today @usekernel launches native support for WebMCP, a new protocol that websites use to give agents structured API calls in the browser.
This is part of our work to give AI agents the best and most complete experience on the Internet.
With KERNEL + WebMCP, agents (and their developers) can:
> see what WebMCP tools are available in our Live View and with `kernel.browsers.webmcp.listTools`
> call tools with 1 loc `kernel.browsers.webmcp.invokeTool`
The future of agents using the web is calling structured tools where they exist, then falling back to using the DOM.
KERNEL browsers now natively support webmcp. when a site exposes webmcp tools, your agent calls them directly. works on any webmcp site today, including all @stripe checkouts.
WebMCP is very promising. Agents powered by @usekernel can now save 42% of token spend on @stripe checkout pages
We just rolled out support for WebMCP across @stripe Checkout UIs.
In our benchmarking we saw 42% fewer tokens consumed and 38% fewer tools invoked when an agent had access to WebMCP when completing a payment.
