If we are not following each other & we used to, it’s not because I soft blocked you it’s because this is a whole different account & my other account is gone forever & I nabbed my previous @ so no one else could use it
I am trying to refollow people but (especially if we were previously mutuals for a long time) I feel like I am already following you & will eventually notice I’m not
Please, by all means, follow me again & I will follow you
Why are people so mad at her about this??
A) she’s trying to be objective & asking for perspective
And b) she’s got a lot of reason to be wanting to stick close to her baby
My friend wants to plan a couples, no-kids weekend getaway, splitting the cost of a large AirBNB, in January for her 30th birthday. I really do not love this idea (husband is mortified), neither to spend the money nor to get someone to take the toddler for 3 days. It would be a 2.5 hour drive away for us, too, so it’s not like we’re close if something happens. I haven’t been away from him for even 1 night yet and he still just seems so young! It would be very hard to leave him for that long.
Am I just a party pooper who needs to get over it? Genuine question. Like I actually need advice here guys
HAVING KIDS COMPLETED ME TOO
Before I had kids I was pretty good at life actually, but my first baby raised the curtain on this magnificent dimension of existence I never knew existed. The strongest most joyful most beautiful part that you can’t imagine until you’re there
My kids equalized all the negatives. They made the trials worthwhile
So I have a hard time believing that people regret having their children

Made everyone mad because I don’t like being put in the hot seat over friend’s birthday travel plans
I spent years spending money on friend’s birthdays & I made a lot of people mad when I couldn’t or didn’t want to fly to Spain or even just to Vegas to celebrate them. One particular group all still travels together a few times a year & I rarely see them anymore & that’s ok because I am not all that big on seeking leisure & eating & drinking in different places
When I travel it’s generally outdoors or nature related or visiting friends & family
If you want destination-birthdays to be an ok thing in the social contract you have to be ok with accepting some people don’t generally enjoy that sort of thing
But if you need someone to help you tear out turf & build a cute stone path around your garden, or someone to show up with a trailer to help you salvage roadside furniture, or to wake up at 3am & run a 10k with you, I am totally your girl, it doesn’t even have to be your birthday
Pet peeve of mine is adults that make a very big deal about their birthdays & expect that their friends are obligated to participate

Basically this
Replying to @anisenot
It’s one thing if you invite your friends to participate, it’s another when you expect your friends to pick up the tab.
And I still wouldn’t go on a vacation for her birthday
One of my friends & I got along perfectly natural & familiar from the first moment we met and now I am friends with her husband too & we are so on the same vibe. Just easy, familiar, comfortable friends
I have never had easier friends where I feel very much like *Who I Really Am* is shining through. And we are extremely different people, have some major fundamental divergences, but like, it’s totally cool we love each other’s little universes
A friendship like no other

Whenever her husband comes over we end up noodling around on the guitars & singing old songs really loud & genuinely complimenting each other’s singing & watching old Tom Green Show clips on YouTube & we all say “Love you guys” when we part
I didn’t know friends like this were possible after the age of 14
