the A220 is a lovely aircraft to fly on, especially for tall folks - the complimentary wifi onboard was awesome too @AirCanada!

will be my first time on an A220 this week - looking forward to seeing how it compares to the 737

I let one of my non-tech friends listen to this conversation and they failed to identify Dessa as the agent… pretty crazy stuff tbh
We made the first AI model you can have a realistic conversation with that was trained entirely on speech! Dessa is a full-duplex speech-to-speech model that you can run on consumer GPUs. This is a GPT3 moment for speech.

are we seeing the year of the personal agent?

am i the only one that likes gmail's latest update on mobile? looks cleeean!

Pumped to be in SF again next week. If you’re working on speech, audio models, conversational data, or evals, I’d be keen to grab a coffee while I’m in town. Shoot me a DM :)

I had, arguably, too much fun last night playing around with gpt live 1.1 - my new fav thing to do is have Miko or Sonna speak English with a German accent. Dare I say I prefer that over regular English haha
Voice is one of my fav features and the team behind it is awesome.

it's actually pretty crazy how early we are with AI - i think it's important to realize how most of us live in this tech bubble where all of our peers and colleagues are up to date with the latest releases and technology but thanksgiving dinner conversations this weekend with friends and family made me realize that the average person today is still very much removed from AI and personal agents. first company to really capture this part of the market is going to win big.

super grateful to live here. Vancouver’s got it all - mountains, water, city, and good food. World’s best-kept secret maybe?

spent the last week in SF and Sydney, which are incredible and beautiful cities in their own right but coming back home to Vancouver makes me realize how underrated Van is. mountains, water, and city right at your doorstep.

great time in Sydney at Interspeech - had a great time meeting folks and getting to hear what they’re working on. Exciting times ahead :)

We’ve been thinking a lot about how to best evaluate multimodal models, especially with so much new work happening around voice agents and speech-to-speech benchmarx. Before putting out benchmarks of our own, we wanted to spend more time understanding the core decisions that go into building a good evaluation in our latest blog post. We’ve historically shared a lot about the data we build at Mundo, but there’s so much cool work happening internally that we’re excited to start sharing more of :)
There’s a new voice agent / speech-to-speech benchmark released every other week. So we’ve been looking closely at the design decisions and the assumptions those decisions introduce. On our latest blog: what the model hears, and the choice between human and synthetic speech.

just caught Dr Hansen's keynote at #interspeech2026. cool look at how far speech tech has come, and a good reminder of how much of the hard stuff is still unsolved. solid start to the week.

Replying to @hellomundoai
@hellomundoai is headed to Interspeech 2026 (and sponsoring the conference lounge)! A huge focus of mine right now is building better speech evals/benchmarks that reflect real-world distributions - would love to chat with others working on this! Excited to catch up with old friends and meet new folks! DM me if you'd like to chat speech data / evals 🫡

touched down in Sydney this morning - I fear that I’ve brought the Vancouver rain with me 😓 also, is everyone in Sydney a runner? I’ve seen like 50+ people running along the harbour in the last 1.5 hours lol

first ever Waymo ride for me after the Gemini Audio Night yesterday - felt weird at first but surprisingly natural after a bit. For any SF folks following me, how does Waymo compare to other ride-sharing companies in SF and which is most popular?
