I’ve been drawing up an overview of pure vs GraphQL fragmentized [React] UI components, different ways to propagate data through the tree, and the associated maintenance/performance considerations.
Perhaps you find it helpful or let me know if you have any feedback! 🙏
This past year at @MicrosoftTeams, I've had the pleasure to lead the UI architecture for part of this new Chats and Channels UX, and introduce @RelayFramework to our @reactjs stack to use @GraphQL the way originally intended. Coming soon to 320+ MAU 😅

We also started writing some docs to explain how GraphQL and React were meant to be used together through fragment composition, and how we want our engineers to use Relay from day 1: aka.ms/learn-graphql
My family and I have successfully managed to immigrate to the US and we have just signed a lease to a house in the Seattle Green Lake area. It's been quite a journey figuring everything out (no relocation assistance), but now we're looking forward to a summer of nature trips! 🤩
Does anyone know of a great resource for modern React that explains the need for composition > inheritance and how to do it?
I think this one from the legacy React docs still applies, but it's a bit short and too easy to conflate OOP and Prop inheritance legacy.reactjs.org/docs/comp…
@dan_abramov Do you have any plans on having an updated version of the Composition over Inheritance guide on the new doc site?

You can tell Apple did such an amazing job with Swift Package Manager, that since they announced it in 2015, usage of Cocoapods has plummeted bestgems.org/gems/cocoapods
Regarding GraphQL and performance. Since the Quora article, have there been any new write-ups on before/after when migrating a system with many small [fetch-as-you-render] queries to one that has only a few comprehensive [render-as-you-fetch] queries?
So proud to share the what I have been working on along with incredible colleagues at Microsoft Teams. Making teams faster and lighter has been a passion and so great to see it come to life. Get new Teams now!!! #performance #newTeams

Today I received my diagnosis; I have ADHD.
Knowing is half the battle and has been such an immediate weight off my shoulders.
While it has been my ‘superpower’ for the longest time, these last few years I’ve been struggling and now I know there’s opportunity for improvement 🥲
But it wasn’t until last year, with our baby girl, exhaustive home renovation project management work, and increased responsibilities at the job; that I realized I should get myself tested before my son.
I’m a bit of an ostrich, when it comes to my own health 😅
Does someone know of a TS codemod that can find all references to named exports of a module and rewrite how they are being imported? (I specifically want to import them from a different module and in other cases import them through a namespace.)
Unsure yet how actively I'll be using it, but my mastodon is: @alloy@mastodon.social
