Big day today. I’m announcing SocialCrank, the spiritual successor to SocialRank, 12 years later.
Coming for X, Instagram, TikTok and more.
You can request early access here: socialcrank.ai
Quick thread on what we’re building with @SocialCrankai and why I think it matters. 🧵
The best thing I've made for myself in the last few months is this daily email I get with the top 10 tweets on X about A.I.
I built it under @SocialCrankai but it is so useful I think I might open it up so others can get it. You never miss anything in the industry if you read it daily.
Anyone want it? If enough people reply or DM me about it I'll make it available for others.

We just did our first theef swap with @tripleoptics_ (thanks for being our guinea pig 🫡)
Quick clarification on how this will work going forward:
This is going to be a rolling, case-by-case process. The “theef” metadata is temporary, the goal is to punish the hackers, not innocent people who may end up with one of these NFTs.
If a good-faith buyer ends up with a theef, we can restore the metadata from the swapped one in our treasury (that turned into the replacement) and will do our best to work with OpenSea on getting the flag removed.
We’re also not automatically swapping every affected NFT. Each situation will be handled individually, and ultimately the biggest hit here is to our own goblin treasury.
We will be doing the same with Illuminati and Grumpls soon. The 187 is a little tricker but we will figure something out.
If you were affected by the hack, DM me here or on Discord and I’ll help get you sorted. And seriously, pester me if I miss your message.

thanks to a gift from @ajt my gob has returned 🥳
The ME/Limitbreak hack affected a lot of NFTs across the @truth ecosystem, including some of our biggest and most active community members.
Outside of a handful that @0xQuit was able to save, a lot of those stolen NFTs are now flagged on OpenSea and realistically aren’t recoverable.
So we’ve been thinking about what we *can* do.
Here’s the tentative plan:
For stolen Goblins, we change the art/metadata on those NFTs to basically say “stolen” / FU to the hackers, making the stolen versions worthless from an art and metadata perspective.
Then we’ll take Goblins from the Truth treasury, change their art and metadata to match the stolen Goblins, and send those replacement Goblins back to the people who were affected.
So effectively:
Stolen Goblin → art/metadata gets nuked.
Treasury Goblin → becomes the original Goblin and goes back to the affected holder.
There are some downsides. We’ll probably end up giving away a large part, if not all, of the Goblins in our treasury. And anyone who legitimately bought one of the stolen Goblins after the hack could end up holding an NFT with changed metadata. Most appear to be hackers or WETH offers, but if there are legitimate buyers, we’ll work with them to trade it back to the original holder in exchange for one in our treasury.
But I think the upside is worth it.
This was a terrible hack. The people affected didn’t do anything wrong, and many of them are some of the most passionate people in our community and in crypto generally.
We can’t recover everything they lost. But in this case, we actually have the ability to do something.
We’re going to start with @goblintown. If it works well, we’ll look at doing the same for @secretsociety, @the187, Grumpls, and others.
We may also try to buy back the stolen NFTs after their metadata has been changed, burn them, or potentially restore them later depending on what makes the most sense.
We’ll start rolling this out over the next few days. It is going to be a very manual process so bear with me.
If you were affected, DM me here or on Discord with all the details so I can verify everything end to end.

I was hacked and lost 8 rare Goblins, including my 1/1.
Huge thanks to @ajt for everything you’ve done for the community. I’m incredibly grateful that the treasury sent me all 8 of my Goblins, including my 1/1.
I truly appreciate you taking care of the community. ❤️

Even with no advance notice of this, we've been planning a migration off @AbstractChain for the last few weeks and were already well into that process.
@dyli_io will continue to work the same way regardless of the underlying chain, and most importantly, your collectibles remain safe.
Once ready, there will be a simple one-click migration portal to move everything over.
More info soon. Excited for our next chapter.

Shout to to @0xQuit and @ajt for helping restore my @secretsociety and @goblintown grails. Most founders have disappeared, @ajt stays grinding.

If you used SocialRank back in the day, I’d love to hear from you.
And if SocialCrank sounds useful, a repost would mean a lot.
One last thing…
It is rare that you get to come back to a problem you loved working on more than a decade later.
Even rarer to come back when the technology has changed enough that you can finally build the version you always wished existed.
That is what @SocialCrankai feels like to me.
Same obsession.
Much better tools.
Much bigger aspirations.
The circle is complete.
Now we get to see how far we can take it.

Meet SocialCrank.
Search any social audience. Find exactly who you need.
Hosting an event IRL? Find the community, customers, creators or fans in that city who already follow you, and invite them.
The product for Twitter will launch first, letting you pull in your followers and granularly search through them by location, bio, verification, size, and more.
Then IG/TikTok/etc..
Built for the AI era, with natural language search, MCP/connectors and a much bigger vision for social data.

One of my favorite things we’re launching today is SocialCrank Weekly.
Every Monday morning, it sends you the 10 most-viewed posts on X from the previous week, ranked 1–10.
No endless scrolling. Just the top of the top.
And this is just the beginning. We can do this daily, monthly, yearly, or by specific industry/topic. I already have a personal daily version for AI.
Subscribe and let me know what you think: socialcrank.ai/weekly
