In a historic meeting at the Vatican, @AJCCEO Ted Deutch and AJC leaders met with Pope Leo XIV, who reaffirmed his commitment to combating antisemitism and strengthening Jewish-Catholic relations. As antisemitism and anti-Israel hatred rise around the world, AJC will continue working with Catholic leaders to turn this shared commitment into meaningful action and strengthen the bonds between our communities. jewishinsider.com/2026/10/aj…

We are horrified by the terrorist attack at Hamoud Church in Karak, Jordan, this morning, in which six were killed and 28 injured. We condemn this attack unequivocally and stand with our partners in Jordan and Jordan’s Christian community. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all those affected. We pray for the swift recovery of the injured and arrest of the perpetrators.

We forcefully condemn the terrorist attack, which was allegedly linked to Hamas, against an IDF position outside Hebron in the West Bank. Two Israeli soldiers were killed and three others wounded in the attack. Our thoughts are with the families of the fallen soldiers, and we wish the wounded soldiers a full and speedy recovery. We are grateful to the IDF for its swift action in stopping the terrorists and preventing an even larger attack. We stand with Israel against terrorism. May the memories of the fallen soldiers be a blessing.

“Jewish people must be able to live, worship and educate their children without fear.” During a meeting at the Vatican with AJC leaders, Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin reaffirmed the Holy See's firm rejection of antisemitism in every form, emphasizing the shared responsibility to confront prejudice and protect Jewish communities. With a relationship spanning more than a century, AJC and the Catholic Church continue to build on a longstanding commitment to dialogue, mutual understanding, and stronger Jewish-Catholic relations. osservatoreromano.va/it/news…

When Pope Leo XIV reached out to AJC on the first day of his papacy, he reaffirmed the enduring bond between the Catholic Church and the Jewish people. At a moment when dialogue across faiths is more important than ever, we thank His Holiness for his generosity, his leadership, and his powerful commitment to fight antisemitism.

We echo our partners at @BoardofDeputies in welcoming the British government’s review of widespread antisemitism in education. The review sets out 27 recommendations to protect Jewish students, all of which have been accepted by @EducationGovUK. This is a critical first step toward tackling antisemitism in schools, which has affected 3 in 5 Jewish schoolchildren across the UK. We thank Sir David Bell for leading this important review and urge school leaders across Britain to implement the recommendations swiftly.
We welcome the recommendations of Sir David Bell to tackle antisemitism in schools and colleges and the commitment of the Secretary of State for Education to implement them. The struggle against extremism and antisemitism begins with education, so we must get this right in schools. This is not just about protecting Jewish pupils and staff, but protecting all our children from hateful and extremist ideas, and supporting schools to tackle them where they arise.

We are grateful to @Pontifex Leo XIV for welcoming @AJCCEO Ted Deutch, President Bobby Lapin, and Director of Interreligious Affairs Rabbi Noam Marans, alongside dozens of AJC leaders, to the Vatican. During the papal audience, the delegation presented the Pope with artwork celebrating the historic bond between the Jewish people and the Catholic Church, including the landmark 1965 Nostra Aetate declaration, which transformed Catholic-Jewish relations. As a longtime leader in Catholic-Jewish relations, AJC is proud to continue building understanding and strengthening ties between our communities. We thank Pope Leo for his friendship and support for Jewish communities around the world, and wish him a speedy recovery and good health. ajc.org/news/ajc-leaders-mee…

The fight against hate isn't for Jews to fight alone. This week, I saw that firsthand. AJC partnered with the David Merage Foundation to bring together local and national leaders from government, education, and faith and intergroup partners for their first annual Congress for Confronting Antisemitism. Antisemitism demands a whole-of-society response. Hundreds of partners are answering that call.

Thank you Foreign Minister @prevotmaxime for the open and constructive exchange with AJC lay leaders. We strongly agree that no one should hide their identity or fear for their children because they are Jewish. Belgium’s plan to strengthen cooperation across all levels of government and involve Jewish communities in new measures against antisemitism is the right approach. @AJCTAI stands ready to help and looks forward to working together. 🇧🇪
🇺🇸🇮🇱 Very good and open conversation with the American Jewish Committee @AJCGlobal about our shared commitment to fighting antisemitism in Belgium and in the United States, and more globally around the world. No one should feel unsafe, hide their identity or fear for their children because they are Jewish. Political leaders and civil society organisations have a responsibility to stand together on this, whatever our political differences. That means listening to Jewish communities, taking their concerns seriously, giving answers to them and challenging the disinformation, conspiracy theories and antisemitic stereotypes that fuel hatred. Belgium’s commitment is longstanding and unequivocal. Building on existing efforts, we are strengthening cooperation across all levels of government and preparing further measures to combat antisemitism, with representatives of Belgium’s Jewish communities involved in this work. Our goal is clear: ensuring that Jewish life can flourish in Belgium in safety and dignity. @BelgiumMFA @BelgiuminIsrael

For nearly a year, AJC has partnered with the David Merage Foundation to advance its goal of bringing society together to address antisemitism. That collaboration culminated in the Foundation’s first annual Congress for Confronting Antisemitism, convening Jewish and non-Jewish leaders from across civic life, education, faith, business, and philanthropy. @AJCCEO Ted Deutch delivered remarks on the importance of a whole-of-society response to antisemitism, while AJC experts contributed critical expertise and led sessions focused on actionable solutions. Through this partnership, AJC helped provide the cross-sector guidance, leadership, and expertise needed to turn shared commitment into meaningful action against antisemitism. Now that work starts as we turn ideas into action in the dozens of communities represented.

AJC was proud to help provide lifesaving aid to Ukraine by sponsoring an ambulance delivered by our partners at the United Ukrainian Organizations of Ohio. The ambulance traveled as part of an international volunteer convoy from Munich through Europe to western Ukraine, bringing critical humanitarian assistance to communities impacted by Russia’s illegal war. As Putin’s assault continues, AJC stands firmly with Ukraine and calls on the international community to bolster its support.

AJC is appalled that a planned professional development trip to Reggio Emilia, Italy, for early childhood educators affiliated with many of our Jewish communal partners was met with political litmus tests, protests, and antisemitic rhetoric. Together with @JFederations, @ADL, @Conf_of_Pres, and @PrizmahCJDS, we have issued a joint statement condemning this deeply troubling incident. It reflects a broader pattern of isolating Jews and Jewish institutions, restricting opportunities for cultural exchange, learning, and mutual understanding, and demanding that Jews renounce the State of Israel. AJC strongly condemns the reported attack by Israeli extremists on a diplomatic convoy near Taybeh in the West Bank. Violence against diplomats is not acceptable, as is the broader pattern of extremist attacks against Palestinians, IDF soldiers, security personnel, and journalists in the West Bank. We welcome the arrests made by Israeli authorities, and continue to call for full accountability for those who commit violence. As we have repeatedly said, concrete steps must be taken to prevent further violence.

We have watched with horror as violent riots have engulfed Paris and spread across France. What we are witnessing should serve as a cautionary tale for leaders everywhere. Failing to confront extremism and allowing extremist rhetoric and behavior to become normalized erode democratic values, deepen societal divisions, and create the conditions for political violence to take hold. For more than 20 years, @AJC_Paris has warned that rising antisemitism and extremism are not only threats to the Jewish community, but also warning signs of a deeper crisis facing French democracy and society. We stand with the peaceful, law-abiding people of France whose lives, livelihoods, and communities have been affected by the violence, and hope for a swift restoration of peace and stability. israelhayom.com/2026/10/19/f…
