AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS (AAC) PRESS STATEMENT NB: For Immediate Release 22 October, 2026 ARISE NEWS MUST WITHDRAW FALSE REPORT AND APOLOGIZE TO OMOYELE SOWORE AND HIS SUPPORTERS The Sowore/Magashi 2027 Presidential Campaign strongly condemns the false, misleading, and defamatory report published and broadcast by Arise News regarding an altercation involving a lawyer and supporters of our presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, at the Federal High Court, Abuja. In its report, Arise News presenter Ojinika "Ojy" Okpe made a number of assertions that are false and unsupported by the very video footage aired by the station. First, she claimed that the altercation occurred outside the courtroom. This is false. The exchange took place inside the courtroom, in full view of those present. Second, she alleged that Mr. Sowore's supporters threatened to teach the lawyer a serious lesson. However, the footage presented by Arise News contains no evidence whatsoever of any supporter issuing threats against the lawyer. Such a serious allegation should not be reported as fact without proof. Third, Ms. Okpe compounded the falsehood by characterizing the alleged conduct as evidence of lawlessness on the part of Sowore's supporters. This narrative is not only unsupported by the video evidence but also amounts to a reckless and malicious attempt to smear peaceful citizens who have consistently exercised their democratic rights within the bounds of the law. The African Action Congress (AAC) and the Sowore/Magashi 2027 movement have built their political engagement on the principles of accountability, rule of law, and democratic participation. Attempts to portray our supporters as violent or lawless through false reporting are unacceptable and deeply irresponsible. We therefore call on Arise News to: 1. Immediately take down the misleading post and accompanying report from all its platforms. 2. Issue a clear and unreserved public apology to Omoyele Sowore, his supporters, and the Nigerian public. 3. Retract the false claims and correct the record with the same prominence accorded to the original publication. Media organizations have a duty to uphold the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, and professional responsibility. Freedom of the press must not become a license for misinformation, character assassination, or political bias. The Sowore/Magashi 2027 Campaign remains committed to truth, justice, and democratic accountability, and we expect Arise News to act accordingly. The African Action Congress takes immense joy and pride in knowing our presidential candidate is superior in terms of consistency, character and competence. He has evidently raised the bar so high on how true and steadfast a 'politician' should be and remain committed to not just acting but living in the interest of the people even when it is most inconveniencing and unpopular to do so
I watched an interview on #PoliticsToday* on @channelstv, anchored by @seunokin, in which the @OfficialAPCNg National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru (@DrSRJ), called me a “skit maker” and “comedian.” I am presenting here a photograph I took with Ajibola in 1998, when I led the Congress of Progressive Youths (COPY), and we were both in the trenches fighting against military dictatorship. What eventually happened to COPY offered an early indication of what Ajibola has become today, but that is a story for another day. His premise is that because Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT was declared "winner" by @inecnigeria in the deeply flawed 2023 presidential election, those of us who contested against him should somehow be ashamed of losing. Ajibola @DrSRJ came to the University of Lagos after he was expelled from the University of Ilorin in 1992 for student activism. I received him alongside Kunle Adegoke, popularly known as “K-Rad,” who is now a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN). We provided them with an enabling environment to apply to re-enter the university, gain admission, and study Law at the University of Lagos @UnilagNigeria. Both eventually graduated with flying colours and went on to accomplish great things. The struggle for justice, democracy, freedom and the preservation of human dignity is neither skit-making nor comedy. Ajibola knows this because he was once part of that struggle and benefited from the solidarity of those who refused to surrender to military tyranny. It is unfortunate that he has become so carried away by the fleeting privileges of his current political position that he now ridicules the very struggle that helped shape his own future. But Ajibola should know better. Political appointments are temporary. Tinubu's regime will come and go, just like the military regimes we confronted in our youth. The principles we fought for in 1994 remain as relevant today as they were then. Our commitment to justice has endured for decades and will outlast his present political appointment. The struggle for freedom is not comedy. What is truly comical is watching yesterday's beneficiaries of resistance become today's defenders of the very oppression they once fought against. #RevolutionNow

Tinubu’s Government and Lies are Inseparable: The Real Nigeria Inflation Math. 🧵 The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) claims inflation has dropped to around 14.63%, acting like the cost-of-living crisis is under control. But anyone who goes to a market in October 2026 knows the truth: This administration is using statistical tricks to mask historic hyperinflation. Here is the undeniable mathematical proof contrasting what things cost in January 2023 (before Tinubu took office) with what they cost today in October 2026. 📊 The Real Market Receipt (Jan 2023 vs. Oct 2026) •⛽ Petrol (1 Litre): ₦190 ➔ ₦1,387 | +630% •🍅 Fresh Tomatoes (Basket): ₦2,000 ➔ ₦11,250 | +462.5% •🍜 Indomie Noodle (Pack): ₦70 ➔ ₦300 | +328.6% •🐟 Titus Sardine (Tin): ₦475 ➔ ₦1,725 | +263.2% •🧱 Cement (50kg Bag): ₦4,800 ➔ ₦13,500 | +181.3% •🥤 Coca-Cola (Bottle): ₦150 ➔ ₦400 | +166.7% 🧮 The True Inflation Breakdown If you buy these six basic essentials as a standard "survival basket," look at the devastating leap in total cost: •Total Basket Cost (January 2023): ₦7,685 •Total Basket Cost (October 2026): ₦28,562 •True Cumulative Inflation Rate: 271.66% 🛑 Propaganda vs. Reality The Government's Narrative (NBS) The Actual Market Reality 14.63% headline inflation rate. 271.66% cumulative price spike on everyday items. Claims food pressure is loosening. Staples are up between 166% and 462%. Celebrates "economic stabilization." Fuel prices have jumped 630%, crushing transport. 🔍 How They Hide the Truth Tinubu’s government manipulates the narrative using two clever deceptive tactics: 1The Year-on-Year Reset: The official 14% figure only compares October 2025 to October 2026. It completely hides the catastrophic price surges that took place in 2023 and 2024.
2Changing the Math: By rebasing the Consumer Price Index (CPI) weights, they structurally forced the reported rate of increase to look smaller on paper. A slower price increase on top of already weaponized, tripled prices is not relief. You can rebase the spreadsheets all you want, but you cannot rebase an empty stomach. #Nigeria #TinubuEconomy #NBS #NigeriaInflation #AAC @aacparty @sowore @OrganizedAfrica

AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS (AAC) PRESS STATEMENT 15th October, 2026 AAC DESIGNATES FEDERAL HIGH COURT AND MINISTRY OF JUSTICE AS OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN VENUES IN ABUJA The African Action Congress (AAC) hereby announces a critical adjustment to our presidential campaign activities in response to the persistent judicial harassment and politically motivated distractions targeted at our Presidential Candidate, Omoyele Sowore. Over the past months, our presidential candidate has been compelled to devote a significant portion of his productive campaign time to defending himself against a frivolous and needless lawsuit instituted by the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Tosin Ajayi. This development has unnecessarily diverted valuable time and resources that should have been dedicated to engaging Nigerians across the country on the urgent task of national liberation. In view of this reality, and in keeping with our determination to campaign wherever our candidate is compelled to be, the AAC has resolved that the environs of the Federal High Court, Abuja, and the Federal Ministry of Justice shall serve as some of our official campaign venues throughout the month of October 2026 in the Federal Capital Territory. Our campaign remains committed to taking our message directly to the Nigerian people, and we refuse to allow legal intimidation or politically motivated distractions to derail our democratic engagement with citizens. If our candidate is forced to spend his days in court defending his fundamental rights and freedoms, then the campaign will accompany him there. The struggle for a better Nigeria cannot be suspended by litigation. The AAC hereby calls on all Party faithfuls, supporters of democracy, advocates of justice, and concerned Nigerians to join us at the next court sitting scheduled for: Date: Monday, 19 October 2026 Venue: Federal High Court, Abuja Time: 8.00 am The presence of patriotic Nigerians will send a clear message that democracy cannot be intimidated and that the right of citizens to freely express themselves must be protected at all times. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and together we shall continue to defend democracy and Justice. AAC! TakeItBack! Signed: Rex I. Elanu National Publicity Secretary African Action Congress (AAC)

From humble beginnings to a lifetime of challenging the impossible. ✊🏾 They doubted him, underestimated him, and told him what was beyond his reach. But history is written by those who dare to challenge the limits imposed on them. Today, that same courage, conviction, and relentless pursuit of a better society fuels the mission to transform Nigeria. The dream is bigger. The vision is clearer. The mission is Nigeria’s liberation. 2027 is our opportunity to build the Nigeria we deserve. #Sowore2027 #SoworeMagashi #AAC #AACParty #TakeItBack

AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS (AAC) PRESS STATEMENT 9th October, 2026 AAC INAUGURATES SOWORE–MAGASHI 2027 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL, TAKES NATIONAL MOBILISATION TO THE NEXT LEVEL The African Action Congress (AAC) has inaugurated the Sowore–Magashi 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), marking a major step forward in the Party’s preparations to mobilise Nigerians for the 2027 presidential election. The inauguration brings together a structured team of political strategists, organisers, policy advocates, media professionals, digital campaigners, election specialists, legal practitioners, finance personnel and grassroots mobilizers who will coordinate the campaign across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The Campaign Council will be led by Director-General Abdullahi Usman, supported by deputies responsible for Strategy & Political Affairs and Diaspora & Resource Mobilisation, alongside the Campaign Council Secretary, Juwon Sanyaolu. Ten national directorates have also been established to drive the campaign’s core functions, including Strategy and Policy, Grassroots Mobilisation, Labour and Civil Society Engagement, Publicity and Communications, Digital Media, Data and Technology, Election Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance, and Administration and Field Operations. At the grassroots, the campaign structure will connect state, LGA, ward and polling-unit coordinators, building a nationwide network of volunteers, canvassers, polling agents and supporters. The AAC acknowledges that the coordination and mobilisation of the Sowore 2027 campaign has, to date, been significantly powered by the innovative SOWORENOW app, which has provided an important digital platform for organising supporters and coordinating campaign activities. The Presidential Campaign Council is not a replacement for this digital mobilisation infrastructure; rather, it is designed to upscale, deepen and expand it. The Council will combine the power of technology with physical grassroots organisation, political coordination and community-level mobilisation to ensure that the Sowore–Magashi campaign reaches Nigerians in every part of the country. This AAC is clear about the historic task before us. The 2027 election is not merely about changing the occupant of Aso Rock; it is about changing the political direction of Nigeria. As the old political order continues to fail Nigerians, the AAC is taking its message directly to the people, from the cities to the rural communities, from state capitals to the polling units. The inauguration of the Campaign Council therefore signals the beginning of an intensified nationwide mobilisation. We call on Nigerians who believe that Nigeria can and must be different to join us. The task of taking back our country cannot be left to politicians alone; it requires the active participation of the People. AAC! TAKE IT BACK! Signed: Samuel Ajeigbe Ag. AFRICAN ACTION CONGRESS (AAC) PRESS STATEMENT 8th October, 2026 AAC: NIGERIANS NEED THE FULL SUBSIDY RESTORATION, NOT TINUBU’S 30-DAY TOKEN! The African Action Congress (AAC) rejects the Tinubu administration’s latest 30-day petrol “discount” as another temporary response to a crisis created by the Bola Tinubu through his reckless removal of fuel subsidy. For over three years, Nigerians have endured astronomical fuel prices, soaring transport fares, hunger and unbearable cost of living, while the government continues to experiment with half-measures. AAC has been unequivocal about this issue, as our presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has consistently maintained that upon taking Power, he will RESTORE FULL FUEL SUBSIDY as a deliberate welfare policy to protect Nigerians from the brutality of market-driven fuel prices, even as an oil-producing country. Unlike Bola Tinubu and the other Presidential candidates who change their positions when it is convenient, Omoyele Sowore, has remained steadfast in his position, insisting that government must protect the people and guarantee affordable fuel by subsidizing it transparently and fixing the nation's petroleum refineries. The Tinubu government cannot continue to impoverish Nigerians and then offer them a 30-day discount as political charity. We demand permanent relief and affordable fuel. We demand an economy that works for the people. AAC! TAKE IT BACK! Signed: Rex I. Elanu National Publicity Secretary African Action Congress (AAC)
